Euler Hermes is now Allianz Trade

The world leader in trade credit insurance

On 28 March 2022 we at Euler Hermes entered an exciting new phase in our global evolution with the launch of our new brand name, Allianz Trade.

And whilst the Euler Hermes name may have now changed, our century-long commitment to our customers remains the same.

We remain deeply rooted in our 100 year Euler Hermes heritage, and our promise to our customers remains unchanged: enabling your business growth by giving you confidence in tomorrow.

We do this by securing your receivables through tailored trade credit insurance solutions. We’re also a leading provider of surety bonds for international trade, construction and manufacturing.

We’re a proud member of the Allianz family and moving from Euler Hermes to Allianz Trade brings us even closer, expanding our network of knowledge and expertise, and further enabling technological advances to help you trade with confidence.

Euler Hermes has long enjoyed a strong presence in the Ireland, and whilst our name has changed, the continuity and quality of our local service, drawing from our global strength, remains the same.

And so does our expert team including their contact numbers and office locations; here to secure your cash flow by protecting your receivables. Our Euler Hermes email addresses will continue to work, in addition to new @allianz-trade.com versions now being used.

As with our Euler Hermes policyholders before our name change, partnering with us gives you access to our proprietary intelligence network which analyses daily changes in corporate solvency, representing 98% of global GDP. This supports your credit management through a robust understanding of B2B credit risk.

For generations we’ve thrived as the market leader, even in tough economic times, and have continuously searched for new and innovative ways to enable our customers’ growth and confidence in tomorrow.
The origins
globe

Our origin dates back from the creation of SFAC in France in 1927. During the following decades, SFAC prospered and started progressively to expand by acquiring COBAC in 1993 – a Belgian company created in 1929 – and Trade Indemnity in 1996 – a UK company created in 1918.

It allowed SFAC to become the world’s leader in trade credit insurance.

Settling as the world’s leader
coworkers

In 1998, SFAC continued expanding by acquiring in ACI – created in the US back in 1883 – and SIAC – an Italian company created in 1927. The same year, Allianz bought AGF, shareholder of SFAC. SFAC became Euler-SFAC.

In 2000, Euler got listed on the Paris Stock Exchange and then acquired Hermes in 2002, the world’s fourth trade credit insurer.

Becoming Euler Hermes

In 2003, the Group and all its subsidiaries adopted the name Allianz Trade, before continuing to expand in Asia Pacific, Middle East and Latin America, but also in Europe by raising stake to COSEC, the market leader in Portugal to 50% in 2007.

In 2008, we created World Agency, a dedicated global entity working specifically for multinationals.

A strong expansion
Between 2010 and 2014, we concluded a global distribution partnership with HSBC, Bpi and BNP Paribas. Together with MAPFRE, we created a joint venture in Spain, Solunion, which quickly expanded to Latin America, and increased it interest equity in ICIC – the Israeli credit insurance specialist – to 50%.
Becoming more digital
In 2016, we concluded new partnerships: with Moody’s as well as with Unicredit to provide tailored rating services to European SMEs. In 2016, we also created a new joint venture, China Pacific Property Insurance Company (CPPIC).
Becoming Allianz Trade

In 2018, Allianz Group successfully completed the acquisition of Euler Hermes’s outstanding shares, making it fully owned by the Allianz Group.

In 2022 Euler Hermes re-branded to Allianz Trade, creating even stronger synergies with Allianz, enabling technological advances to help customers trade with confidence.
