Inflation is slowing. The Consumer Price Index (CPI), the core CPI, the Producer Price Index (PPI) and the core PPI, all came in cooler than expectations in October. On a m/m basis, CPI was flat (0.0%) as compared to expectations of 0.1%. This resulted in a huge and most welcome drop in the y/y rate from 3.7% in September to 3.2% in October.
