There are a Lot of Negatives Out There, But it Could Have Been Worse

The February employment report was unexciting. The economy created 151,000 jobs, a bit less than expectations of 160,000. There was some movement in other parts of the report. For instance, the unemployment rate ticked up from 4.0% to 4.1%, but who cares – over the past ten months it’s ranged between 4.0% to 4.2% (although it should be noted that this is still pretty low historically).
