Good November Job Gains With Caveats

The economy created 199k jobs in November, higher than expectations of 190k, but there are some caveats. Manufacturing added 28k jobs, but after stripping out the 30k UAW strikers coming back to work, manufacturing actually lost -2k jobs. Similarly, the Information industry gained 10k, but after stripping out the returning 17k SAG-AFTRA workers, Information actually lost -7k jobs. Overall, removing the effect of striking workers lowered total job gains from 199k to 152k.
