Fast Radius Operations, a publically listed cloud manufacturing and digital supply chain company, showed alarming financial deterioration following an outside audit—shortly after its delayed full year-end financial release. As a supplier of a few customers of Allianz Trade, we kept a close eye on its financial health to ensure our customers were protected from an untimely and unwanted nonpayment event.
Fast Radius said it had been affected by rising inflation and global supply chain issues. It also said recent headwinds in the capital markets inhibited its ability to place the capital structure needed to stay afloat.
Solution
After the alert, the risk monitoring team acted promptly, analyzing the case further and moving the company to risk grade 8, effectively helping our customers avoid trading with this high risk company before it ultimately filed for bankruptcy a few months later.
