Turning our values into action: how culture shapes the way we work

September 7, 2026

Today, employees are making career decisions based not only on compensation and benefits, but also on other factors such as trust, belonging, values, and flexibility. Providing a sense of belonging is one of the main benefits of a strong workplace culture, and something that’s increasingly important. In a 2025 study by recruitment company Randstad, 55% of employees said they’d quit their job if they didn’t feel that they belonged, up from 37% the previous year.  Clearly, corporate culture is more than a “nice-to-have” – it plays a central role in how people view their workplaces, and in how companies adapt to constant change.

Allianz Trade’s culture is something we actively build. As a global business, we rely on a shared foundation while embracing the diversity that makes each local team unique. We also continue to adapt this foundation to the changes shaping the world of work.

What is corporate culture?

Corporate culture is a set of shared values and behaviors that describe how people within an organization show up for work. At Allianz Trade, our four People Attributes that we have in common with our parent company, Allianz, are embedded in how we assess performance and support employee development:

  • Customer and market excellence
  • Collaborative leadership
  • Entrepreneurship
  • Trust

Having this strong basis is important because it defines how management sets priorities and makes decisions, and how employees are expected to act. It ensures we have a shared understanding of our values. Crucially, it helps our people feel connected to the company and each other, even when we’re working across the four corners of the earth.

How Allianz Trade’s culture supports employees’ needs

Each of our People Attributes can be translated into specific focus areas for Allianz Trade:

Customer and market excellence is reflected in our culture of expertise. We’re proud to be a global leader in our field, and we continuously invest in our employees’ professional development and lifelong learning. This includes helping employees build capabilities in emerging areas such as AI, supported by resources including our Agile Center of Excellence (ACE), which provides coaching and training.

To us, Collaborative leadership means breaking down silos to drive growth. Across teams and borders, we encourage people to share knowledge and work together. This “stand together” mindset is reinforced through initiatives that bring people closer together, helping us avoid duplication, move faster and share best practice across functions and geographies.

Entrepreneurship can be seen as mobility and innovation. We encourage employees to explore new roles, geographies and projects, helping them expand their skills and progress in their careers. We also run regular innovation contests where employees can present new tools or processes, while encouraging fresh ideas in everyday team discussions.

Trust is increasingly important as employees expect greater transparency and dialogue, both with leadership and within teams. We build trust through strong feedback practices and open communication in all directions. Our “Ask Me Anything” sessions, for example, give employees a forum to engage directly with Board members on key topics and help turn feedback into action. Trust is also linked to long-term employability and therefore to our focus on learning: when team members can continuously build their skills, they can look ahead with confidence.

Adapting our global culture to regional teams

With a presence in 40 countries around the world, we recognize the strength of diversity across regions and teams. Combining this common foundation with local flexibility is what keeps our culture strong and relevant over time.

In every country there is a different workforce context to take into account – this can be generational differences or different ways of working, for example. role is to ensure the culture resonates locally without losing the shared framework that connects us. That may mean adapting the pace, language or format of initiatives, while staying anchored in the same People Attributes.

Building a corporate culture for the future

Expectations around flexibility, work-life balance and career growth will continue to evolve. At the same time, emerging technologies such as AI are reshaping how work is done and making skills such as critical thinking and judgment all the more valuable. In this context, our priority is clear: to build a culture that supports adaptability and continuous development, all while strengthening trust. This enables our people to navigate change and continue to grow, both individually and as a global team.
