I transitioned to Surety three years ago by chance after ten years at a French bank. When I was contacted by a recruitment firm about a Surety position, the name Euler Hermes – now Allianz Trade – immediately caught my attention. I wasn’t actively seeking a new position, but it was a tantalizing opportunity to join a world leader in the very division its reputation was based on.

It's thrilling to be at the center of a critical area of modern economies. I’ve found an industry committed to adaptability and ingenuity, and supported by strong partnerships between people from all backgrounds.

When I arrived, I noticed that – despite its size – the whole organization had a start-up spirit. Allianz operates with agility, and this is particularly true of Surety. I love the fact that we are constantly evolving, from digitizing internal processes and developing high-performance IT tools to streamlining the decision-making chain and improving communication. Allianz combines industry-leading experience with the diverse, forward-thinking mindset necessary to be at the cutting-edge of Surety.  

This industry requires a perfect marriage of stability and versatility. We need to be able to act proactively on our clients’ behalf while dealing with quickly changing global conditions. Our team does it thanks to a mix of endless curiosity and dedication. We have a wide variety of external direct contacts and a diverse skillset, which enriches the experience of working here. Our network spans the breadth and depth of the financial world, from our corporate clients to brokers, law firms, consultants, investment funds – and more.

Surety is a rapidly growing industry, and it’s one of Allianz’s priority development areas. That’s both exciting and challenging, and I am proud that our Surety division is now growing at an annual rate of over 10%. In fact, we have doubled our geographical presence over the last few years. We clearly have the means to achieve our ambitions to become a leading global player in this market.

It was a privilege to be appointed Regional Head of International Accounts - Surety at the beginning of 2022. I am excited to play an integral role in Allianz Trade’s ambitious development plan, while supporting major international clients.

Working in Surety requires constant adaptation. We must be attuned to different countries’ practices and cultures to navigate complex economic waters and guide our clients effectively. I find the industry’s international nature tremendously enriching, as it cultivates innovation, profound knowledge and strategic thinking.
